Quarter Three

I choose "Invasive Species" project as one my Quarter three science reflection, Our activity is about invasive species was about working into groups of two and choose an invasive species which is an animal that has inhabited an environment by the process of that animal being taken by humans from it's natural state of environment. Usually when that animal is put into that new environment, humans think that it causes a solution to their problems but it usually results in major problems not only for the humans but for that particular environment and the animals that live in that area.

My partner and I did R.I.F.A. (Red Imported Fire Ant) is a small red ant that lived in South America, but in the late 1800's the ants were accidentally taken aboard on ships and then eventually landed on the boarders of the United States. Since then the ants have reproduced and killed cattle in groups and have caused major problems for humans and for animals around the United States.


The purpose of the activity was to understand how much Invasive Species can hurt the environment and the people around it and to understand that it is never good to take an animal from it's natural habitat and for any purpose think that it solve a problem in a country's human resources, the opposite will happen, the habitat in which you put that invasive species shall kill the animals in that area and harm that environment around it.

At first I thought working with a guy like Chrioni would never work because I can say that me and Chrioni have this grudge against each other but it turns out that we were the first group to get a head start on things and one of the groups that got one of the highest grades in 7th Grade. So I learned that I don't always have to work with the people I like to get a good grade, or to actually work with that person that I don't really know well or don't like to work with.

I think that this experience goes well with my social goal "To Gain new Friends" because that I did not really gain Chrioni as a friend but i have a more positive opinion on Chrioni just as a normal peer in my class.
