In Quarter Three we learned about Chapter 5, which is the second to last chapter in the yellow book for this year. In Chapter 5 we learned:- Making Suggestions
- Make excuses
- Make a recommendation
- Get someone's attention
- Order food and beverages
- Inquire about and express likes and dislikes
- And Pay the check
The first thing we learned in the first section of the book was making suggestions and excuses such as going to the cafe. We also learned how to turn down suggestions and say excuses such as "Sorry I have homework to do, or "Sorry, I have errands to do", or "Sorry I can't go because", and many more.Then we learned favorite French beverages and meals in French. Some examples are Water with Cherry Syrup, Hot Chocolate, Apple Juice, Orange Juice, and so on. Some favorite French meals are French Pies, French Pie, Steak with Fries, Hot dogs, A sandwich with ham, and so on.Next page we learned about Verb Prendre (which usually means to order a food or drink). As you go on to the second section of chapter 5, the first thing you learn is how to call a waiter or waitress politely, how the waiter may ask you to eat or drink, how you ask how to order a food or drink, and asking politely for a food and drink.
Also in Quarter Two we learned a very important Chapter, Chapter 4. Chapter four's main points are: - Tell how much you like or dislike something
- Exchange Information
- and Make, accept, and turn down suggestions
The first thing you start to learn is using the verbs Faire (to play) and Jouer (to do) and you learn vocabulary words using those 2 verbs such as To play Soccer, To play American Football, To play a video, and so on. After that on page 114 you learn how to say if you dislike something or like something or if you and the person you are talking to likes or dislikes something like you do. The next page page 116 talks describes verb Faire and asking people what sports they play, and what they do when they want to have fun. On the next page you learn about the weather conditions such as it's beautiful weather, it's hot, cold, cool, raining, and finally snowing. Then we learned the 12 months of the year from January-December, and then we learned the seasons of the year in the two pages that follow. In the 3rd section of Chapter 4 the last thing we learned in chapter 4 was making, accepting, and turning down suggestions. Chapter 4 taught me a lot of things about what to ask people when they want to play a sport and know how to commonly say a date in a year or a month and share favorite sport activities in French.
In Quarter Two we mostly took chapter three which we talked about the mains points about- Make responds and requests
- Ask others what they need to tell and what you need
- Tell what you'd like and what you'd like to do
- Get someone's attention
- Ask for information
- and finally, Express and respond to thanks
The first section of chapter 3 we learned school and office essentials such as notebooks, pencils, pens, paper, books, bags, and so on, and got tested on the words in French. On the next page (page 80-81) we learned how to pronounce and define the pronouns Un, Une, and Des. on page 82 we learned how to ask people what they need or what we need. As you go on to Section two of Chapter 3 you start to know more about office/school materials such as, shorts, shoes, library books, CD's, Jeans, computers, wallets, and watches. One page 85 you learn the adjectives Ce, Cet, and Cette which usually means these or those. On the next you learn about the colors and how they are written.Then finally we come to section 3 and then finally we learn the numbers again. But this time we took the numbers from 60-201 but we can count higher than 200 now because there is a system and we can easily to 999. The last thing we learned in Chapter 3 was how to get the attention of a clerk or a store owner and how as how much an object was and then of course, compliment the clerk or the store manger.I think that Chapter 3 taught us essentials of what people need and to communicate freely in French to a person and tell and ask them the things that they need and ask what the price and so on.
In Quarter One we first started Chapter 2 we learned how to tell our friends and teachers what classes we have, when, and how good or bad they are. One page 51 we learned our normal school subjects for the day and one page we learned on what classes people have by looking at their expressions and their pictures. On Page 54 we learned how to answer to positive and negative questions by using Si and other important words. On page 55 I learned anther type of verb and that is verb Avior (to have) and I also learned the meaning of Morning, Afternoon, tomorrow, and now. On page 56 we learned the days of the week in French from Sunday to Friday. On the next page we learned new numbers in French from 21 to 59. We also learned how to tell what time it is and tell the time in French by using our numbers 1-59. The last thing we learned in chapter 2 was to how to express your feelings for example your school subjects.
In Quarter one we learned many things in French throughout the first day of school till now. At around the first day of school we studied the numbers for 1 to 20 and learned all the basic equipment in a normal class in French. Then we finally moved to Chapter one and started to do basic sentences about what people like and dislike in their lives. Next, we learned how to greet younger, same age, and older people than us. We also learned how to identify and saw face expressions in French. On the next page we learn how to tell each other our names by telling someone we know our name. Next to that page we learned how tell our age by using the numbers we learned in the very beginning of the year!
One page 26 we learned how to say in a sentence how we like something and another that we maybe dislike, love, or prefer. On page 33 we learned verb Aime by taking out the e at the end of Aime and add a verb at the end.
