Quarter Three

In Quarter Three we learned about Chapter 5, which is the second to last chapter in the yellow book for this year. In Chapter 5 we learned:
  • Making Suggestions
  • Make excuses
  • Make a recommendation
  • Get someone's attention
  • Order food and beverages
  • Inquire about and express likes and dislikes
  • And Pay the check
The first thing we learned in the first section of the book was making suggestions and excuses such as going to the cafe. We also learned how to turn down suggestions and say excuses such as "Sorry I have homework to do, or "Sorry, I have errands to do", or "Sorry I can't go because", and many more.

Then we learned favorite French beverages and meals in French. Some examples are Water with Cherry Syrup, Hot Chocolate, Apple Juice, Orange Juice, and so on. Some favorite French meals are French Pies, French Pie, Steak with Fries, Hot dogs, A sandwich with ham, and so on.

Next page we learned about Verb Prendre (which usually means to order a food or drink). As you go on to the second section of chapter 5, the first thing you learn is how to call a waiter or waitress politely, how the waiter may ask you to eat or drink, how you ask how to order a food or drink, and asking politely for a food and drink.
