Quarter One

The typing test was the first thing related to typing that we did for Quarter one technology. The typing test was done at at http://www.typeonline.co.uk/ and we did the speed test to determine our WPM (words per minute), and to see that it surpasses a normal 8th grader's time.

The activity was about going onto the website, and attempting the keyboard lessons first and then doing the speed test. The keyboard lessons were the lessons that were done before the speed test in order to make a good grade at the speed test. The keyboard were in different ways like for example lesson one was one straight line of keys. The speed test was about a passage that we were supposed to type as fast and as correctly as we can.

I learned how to scan a document from an internet explorer window effiectantely. To also transform that image into a JPG so that it would load. I did not learn anything new in typing, but the review helped me looked over my typing skills, and rember how to efficantaly type on a keyboard.

I could have learned more if I did not do the typing test reapidatly so I could get a better result than the previous result. Also, I took me a while to figure out how to scan the document from the internet because I did not listen to the directions very well. It was hard for me to type effiecantely for the test and I learned differentaly by typing the effiecant way on a keyboard.

This relates to my goals because I sometimes do not follow directions in Tech, which results in me doing everything in a rush and in a hurry to get it done. This is of course not efficient
